Finding Peace In The Midst of a Storm

There are times when life seems like you are trapped inside of a hurricane. The gale force winds that toss you to and fro, the rains that drench you down to the bone, and the lightning that strikes you so sharp until your life literally seems like it’s over. And the forecast seems quite deem when you look at the overall situation. From domestic violence, martial issues to singles struggling with the hope of finding the right mate- peace can be found in the mist of the storm. It’s called the “Eye.”

One of the unique things about peace is that it resides in each and every one of us. It’s just a matter of tapping into our inner soul and placing it at the forefront of our life. Many may say that they find peace in God, but I beg to differ. It’s because of the God that’s in me that I have peace- through His Holy Spirit. It’s no secret that our life situations can often time change by simply adjusting our attitude and thought process.

When my life seems to be heading in the direction of CAT 4 hurricane, I begin to make adjustments to avoid such turmoil. Having lived through an abusive relationship, I now understand that my mind set somewhat controlled the outcome of whether or not I would survive. Meaning, not only do you have to make a conscientious decision to escape, but you have to begin to change your mind set. In your mind is where peace resides. Once you find peace then you begin to clearly think.

My last thought on finding peace in the midst of a storm is that storms can so often change their courses. And whether you receive a direct impact, get hit with torrential winds, or simply get passed over can be a matter of your mind set. Don’t let your current situation dictate or still the peace that resides inside of you.

“I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”  John 14: 27

  1. You know the rejections in life can cause a person to self doubt, but when you have a peace of mind and heart there is nothing anyone can say or do to deter you from your goals. Thanks
